How the Shopify and DoorDash Integration Changes Local Retail Economics
According to Digital Commerce 360, DoorDash just wired itself directly into Shopify — and your CAC math is about to flip. U.S.

merchants with physical storefronts can now list inventory inside the DoorDash marketplace and trigger on-demand delivery without a second onboarding loop. This is the kind of infrastructure shift that turns last-mile from a sunk cost into a conversion lever while you sleep.
The integration moves the bottleneck
The wire is brutally simple. A retailer on Shopify plugs in, inventory surfaces to DoorDash shoppers, fulfillment runs through the DoorDash network — no duplicate SKU mapping, no parallel dashboard. "Merchants want to sell wherever their customers are, and increasingly that means meeting them with speed and convenience," said Atlee Clark, VP of partnerships at Shopify. "This integration puts local retailers in front of millions of DoorDash shoppers and turns same-day demand into sales, all managed inside Shopify."
The reach isn't theoretical. Digital Commerce 360 reports more than 100 of the Top 2000 online retailers in North America already run on Shopify. In 2025, the combined web sales of Shopify-powered Top 2000 retailers hit $10.458 billion. Foot Locker and Champs have already layered DoorDash delivery into their stack. DoorDash, Instacart and Uber Eats have been stacking marketplaces onto retail for years — this is the latest crack in the wall between physical and digital, and it directly hands SME operators a same-day shelf they couldn't afford to build.
The signal cluster around you
You didn't ask for a thesis, but here it is. Macau Business is framing the moment as "Driving digital evolution: Pushing SMEs into e-commerce." Oaysys announced — per recent coverage — an expansion of a full-service digital marketing platform aimed at businesses swapping fragmented vendors for one growth partner. Business of Apps dropped its 2026 ranking of top influencer marketing platforms. Read the cluster in one direction: the SME stack is consolidating, fulfillment is becoming a marketplace feature, and acquisition channels are getting wrapped into fewer dashboards. Every signal points at the same operator move — fewer vendors, faster loops, more surface area per dollar.
Pivot this week
Stop treating delivery as a logistics line item — it's a conversion lever now. Audit your Shopify stack: if you're a U.S. merchant with a physical store, the DoorDash integration is live. Turn it on, instrument it against your existing CAC and LTV, and watch whether same-day delivery lifts conversion on your highest-AOV SKUs. Map your fragmented vendor list against what platforms like Oaysys and the influencer stack are packaging — if your CAC keeps climbing, the answer isn't another channel, it's consolidation. Scale the speed. Cut the friction. Dominate the same-day shelf, or get benched by the operator who did.
